Overview

On January 24, 2024, 2-4 PM CET, we will start the second season of the Atlantic & Arctic Lighthouse Weekly Hours with the DALIA Project: Innovation for the Danube Basin Protection and Restoration.

DALIA is a lighthouse project focusing on the Danube River basin and freshwater. As an Innovation Action, it supports the new EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030. For the next 3 years, 22 partners across Europe will be providing innovative freshwater solutions and demonstrations in the Danube River basin to improve water ecosystems and facilitate decision-making on water management issues.

In this webinar, the Demo sites of Szigetköz (Hungary), Neuburg and Ingolstadt (Germany), Begecka Jama (Serbia), Vah River (Slovakia), Danube Delta (Romania), Bodrog River (Hungary) will present their restoration activities and will discuss the challenges they are facing to protect the Danube River, a key freshwater source for Europe stretching across 39k+ water kilometres, crossing 10 European countries, affecting millions of lives all while fostering economic activity and unique biodiversity.
