Overview
On July 3rd, 2024, from 14:00 to 15:00 CEST, we will host the Atlantic & Arctic Weekly Hour featuring the EDITO. This webinar will showcase the successful centralization of EMODnet and demonstrate how to find and download the data products of EMODnet. In addition, the role of EMODnet in the European Digital Twin of the Ocean infrastructure project (EDITOinfra) will be described and attendees will get an understanding of what functionality will be available through EDITOinfra. EDITOinfra is a joint EMODnet and Copernicus Marine project to publish their respective data products on a common Data Lake that will provide fast, robust and scalable data access and compute can be used for building Digital Twins of the Ocean.

Dr. Conor Delaney
EMODnet and the public infrastructure backbone for the European Digital Twin of the Ocean.
Dr. Conor Delaney, is the Technical Coordinator at the Secretariat of the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODNET), a marine data sharing service of the European Commission Directorate-General of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE). Conor has over 20 years of experience working across the disciplines of ICT, environmental science, and Big Data, participating in research projects, and delivering information technology solutions in both the public and private sectors. A strong advocate of Open Data, Conor has worked as an environmental data scientist for Amazon on their public data program, which involved collaborating with NOAA on ways to improve access to Big Data. Conor has a PhD in Atmospheric Physics, and an MSc. in Environmental Science. He has an extensive knowledge of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Observation data.
Dr Delaney will give an overview of the successful recent centralization of EMODnet and how it has formed the basis for the contribution of EMODnet to European Digital Twin of the Ocean. The features of EMODnet central portal and the EDITO platform (European Digital Twin of the Ocean), and how they relate will be described.
