In May, BlueMissionAA is heading to Cork for the European Maritime Day (EMD) 2025, taking place from May 21 to 23.
As a key initiative supporting the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters,” BlueMissionAA will contribute to shaping the future of ocean governance and raising awareness through creative outreach.
On May 23, BlueMissionAA will co-host, along with PREP4BLUE, BlueMissionBANOS, and BlueMissionMed, a pivotal workshop titled “Mission Ocean – Unlocking Phase 2 Scalable Governance.” This session builds on insights from the first phase of the Mission’s Coordination and Support Actions (CSAs), focusing on overcoming governance barriers and shaping a robust framework for Phase 2. The workshop will foster cross-learning between sea basin CSAs by moving away from siloed discussions and embracing thematic, Mission-wide governance strategies. Through governance mapping and structured dialogue, participants will identify current gaps, enablers, and practical solutions to strengthen lighthouse governance models in alignment with EU maritime priorities. The outcomes of this collaborative effort will inform a legacy document—a key deliverable proposing future governance structures to support long-term Mission impact.
More information will be available soon on the official website.
