The BlueMissionAA project is approaching its conclusion at the end of October, having been featured recently in the Mission Ocean and Waters portal for its work advancing blue innovation across the Atlantic and Arctic basins.
Since 2022, BlueMissionAA has served as the Coordination and Support Action (CSA) for the EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters Atlantic-Arctic Lighthouse, coordinated by the AIR Centre under the leadership of Valerie de Liedekerke, Head of the Ocean Policy and Stakeholders’ Engagement Program. The project brought together over 10 Horizon Europe projects and was recognized with the Atlantic Project Award in 2023.
Key outcomes from the three-year project include the WaveLinks digital platform, developed in partnership with sister projects BlueMissionBANOS and Prep4Blue, which has catalogued nearly 5,900 projects and established 90 demonstration sites across 17 Associated Regions, along with over 120 Charter Actions. The project also developed the Responsible and Sustainable Research Reflection Tool and delivered 35 episodes of the “Weekly Hours” webinar series.
As the project concludes, the Mission Ocean and Waters portal has published a comprehensive feature highlighting BlueMissionAA’s contributions to coordinating ocean research initiatives across the Atlantic-Arctic region, which can be found here.
